Goals and Scope of the Task Force
Goals
- Foster, support and sustain a multidisciplanary CI research community around the application area of cyber security.
- Provide a communication platform between cyber security domain experts and the CI research community, incl. through invitation of external speakers to premiere IEEE events.
- Establish a bridge between the CI research area and other relevant disciplines in both the physical and social sciences, incl. through invitation of external speakers to premiere IEEE events.
- Provide a central aggregation and dissemination channel for CI advances in the domain of cyber security through internal (e.g. CI Magazine) and external media outlets (e.g. New Scientist).
- Capture and/or organize regular events such as Special Session on Cyber Security at premier IEEE conferences.
- Provide community support to CI researchers interested in cyber security research, incl.:
- By providing a central point of call for discussion and dissemination of literature.
- By providing a central point for collaboration and mutual support, incl. for funding proposal development.
- Encourage junior CI researchers to consider cyber security as a valuable research domain.
- Promote the deployment of CI techniques to address cyber security challenges in real-world applications.
